Martorell/Wolfsburg, 19/06/2013. – Dr. Andreas Offermann has been appointed Executive Vice-President for Sales and Marketing of SEAT S.A. with effect from September 1. In this function, Dr. Offermann is to succeed Paul Sevin, who will continue to be active for the Volkswagen Group as a consultant. The new Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, who had been responsible for the global coordination of the National Sales Companies (NSC) of the Volkswagen Group since 2011, will report directly to Jürgen Stackmann, Chairman of SEAT’s Executive Committee.

Dr. Offermann (56) holds a degree in management and a doctorate from the Department of Market Research and Marketing of Cologne University. After leaving university, he held various management positions at BMW AG, including responsibility for production planning for import markets, and was head of product and volume planning, marketing planning and financial controlling for the overseas region. In 1994, he became Head of Export Sales with Porsche and, in 1999, he became Director of Global Sales of the brand. Subsequently he was responsible for operative sales and marketing of Porsche AG.

Paul Sevin joined SEAT in 2010 as Head of Sales & Marketing and was later appointed Vice-President for Sales & Marketing in 2011. Sevin will continue to work as a consultant reporting directly to Christian Klingler, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Group responsible for sales and marketing.

These appointments form part of a series of changes in key sales positions in the sales and marketing area of the Volkswagen Group. Thus, Dr. Offermann’s current post will be taken over by James Muir, who will be in charge of the global coordination of the Volkswagen Group’s National Sales Companies. Muir, who successfully spearheaded the restructuring of SEAT between September 2009 and April 2013, will report directly to Christian Klingler.
