2016 STCC season draws near and PWR Racing Team can now present the drivers who will drive the team’s three SEAT León STCC . Two faces we recognize earlier that Emma Kimiläinen and team President Daniel Haglöf. The third driver can call himself both STCC champion and triple Carrera Cup champion, namely Johan Kristoffersson.
Together, the trio twelve championship victories and over 120 race wins, despite an average age of just 30 years. The goal of the coming season is clear, the figure in front of the number of championship wins should read thirteen after the finale at Knutstorp.
– Johan, who went unbeaten through the Carrera Cup last year, is a solicitation we’ve been working on since the end of last season. He is a multi-talent in motor racing that proved to be fast regardless of car and surfaces. I am very pleased that Johan running for PWR Racing Team in STCC this year, said Haglöf.
Emma and Daniel make both its third season in STCC for PWR Racing Team, which incidentally turns five this season.
– This will be my first time competing in Sweden for a team that is not operated within the family, but I feel great trust Haglöf and the team he and Poker has built in recent years. I am tremendously excited to win the STCC back and feel that the chances are good with PWR and SEAT. It also feels good to have the Bauhaus in the back when I return to Sweden’s elite class of racing. In addition, it’s very valuable to have as much driving as possible at a high level, says Johan.
The team is currently running pre-season test at Karlskoga Motor Stadium and will eventually introduce a reserve drivers that among other things will drive one of the team’s cars at the Solvalla, when the STCC clash with Johan’s commitments with Volkswagen Rallycross Championship.
– To introduce a driver-line up of this caliber feels tremendously good. That we remain the only team with a woman behind the wheel of one of our cars do not make things worse. We have since the beginning believed fully that it is the right way to go in the elite race, which fell very well. Emma has already taken three podium places and I have no doubt that there will be more this year! Now I just want the season to get started, says a visibly excited Poker Wallenberg.
