PWR Racing and SEAT Sweden have unveiled their new SEAT Leon race car for the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season.
The new car has been named the SEAT Leon STCC and is designed by SEAT Design department, as a sounding board in the process, they have had and the SEAT Sport team’s main partner Combitech. Over 10 designers and engineers have been involved in the Circle project and when this text published over 2500 hours put on the new race car, distributed on SEAT’s headquarters in Barcelona and Combitech’s development center in Trollhättan. The work has consisted of everything from pure design to mechanical design and aerodynamics calculations in the computing environment.
– In connection with an event last year where PWR Racing Team lectured for Combitech’s customers here in Trollhättan was born a common idea to raise our partnership to the next level. When the opportunity to develop the team’s new coach showed up was the decision of our involvement easy to take. It is with a great sense of pride and engineering pleasure that we take part of the team effort with SEAT in the STCC. Says Ronnie Madsen, President of Combitech in Trollhättan.
The race car carrying the design DNA of the SEAT Leon with its two-part waistline and distinctive daytime running lights have strong links to the recently updated SEAT Leon Cup Racer, a car that runs internationally in both TCR and SEAT Leon Eurocup.
– To get the SEAT Sweden STCC with one of the fastest growing team feels tremendously good, a hefty injection of strength in the Swedish racing. The car’s appearance hardly make things worse. Hats off to those who designed this race! Says Jonas Lundin, CEO of STCC.
The first body parts just left Cliff & Production Model in Trollhättan and assembled right now in the team’s workshop in Vikmanshyttan, Dalarna. In April, the new SEAT model for the first time to stretch properly when the STCC hold this year’s pre-season tests. PWR Racing Team will shortly present the drivers who will have the honor to compete with the car on the Swedish calendar in 2016.
