Geneva, 03/03/2014. – SEAT S.A. President Jürgen Stackmann presented the new Leon CUPRA this evening at the traditional Volkswagen Group media evening, a prelude to tomorrow’s opening of the Geneva Motor Show.
The new SEAT Leon CUPRA is not only the clear top model in the very successful Leon family; it is also the brand’s most powerful series-production car. Available with a power output of 265 and 280 PS and either a manual or DSG transmission, the CUPRA guarantees precision driving fun of the highest order. With its extensive equipment and excellent quality, the new CUPRA sets a new benchmark in its segment. Another compelling strength is that the sporty icon of the SEAT range is offered for the first time as a five-door and as the Leon three-door Sport Coupé.
Speaking to the press at the Volkswagen Group media evening, Jürgen Stackmann stated that “With the new Leon CUPRA, SEAT is once more taking a major leap forward. The CUPRA is a refined, high-performance car that combines its expressive dynamics with relaxed long-distance comfort and a compelling, high-quality feel. Driving fun and great design comes with every Leon, but the new CUPRA displays SEAT expertise in a whole new dimension. We are proud of this new brand icon and certain of its success.”
A concentrated package of hi-tech guarantees the enormous performance of the new CUPRA. At the top is the all-new 2.0 TSI engine with dual injection and variable camshaft timing. Depending on the version, it delivers an output of 265 PS or 280 PS. The DCC dynamic chassis control, the front differential lock, the progressive steering, the CUPRA Drive Profile and the standard-fit full-LED headlamps are further examples of its state-of-the-art technologies.
The Leon CUPRA is further proof of the potential of SEAT’s compact car, whose range keeps growing after the announcement at the last Vienna Motor Show of the arrival of the new Leon ST 4Drive, equipped with latest generation all-wheel drive.
The SEAT press conference is taking place tomorrow, 4th March, at 10:20 a.m. at stand 2251 in Palexpo. – See more at:
