Martorell, 18/11/2013. – This year SEAT is participating in EVS27 (Electric Vehicle Symposium), the world’s most important electromobility congress. After being hosted by Shanghai and Los Angeles, this year’s event is being held in Barcelona November 18-20.
The congress will draw some 3,000 delegates, with some 7,000 people expected to visit the exhibition area linked to the Congress, within Barcelona’s Trade Fair precinct (Fira de Barcelona). Companies, government representatives and professionals from the electromobility sector will have the occasion to get first-hand knowledge of the latest developments in the field.
In the exhibition area, together with Volkswagen and Porsche, SEAT will display its latest prototypes based on the two concepts the company is currently working on – the SEAT eMii, prototype of an all-electric city vehicle, and the SEAT LEON VERDE, prototype of a plug-in hybrid based on the platform of the new LEON, and developed as a demonstration vehicle for the CENIT VERDE project.
The company will likewise be presenting CENIT VERDE as a salient example of a national project of international importance which has successfully brought together companies which are leaders in each of the sectors linked to electromobility, so as to provide a boost for its development in Spain. At the scientific forum SEAT’s Driving Cycle Predictor, one of the innovations developed by the company within the broader project, will also be presented.
On the shared stand with the Volkswagen Group, Porsche will be exhibiting the Panamera Hybrid S, and Volkswagen its e-up! And XL1 models. On the same stand the Spanish utility company Endesa will be showing a CCS-compatible fast-charge station for electric vehicles, the result of a cooperation agreement between SEAT and Endesa specifically for the development of such a station.
CSS is a form of fast-charge which can provide up to 100kW of direct current, and which brings together in a single connector all kinds of possible charging modes, ranging from domestic to rapid.
In the run-up to EVS27, SEAT has also participated in other events open to the public being held over the week-end in Barcelona. With its test vehicles for fleets – the SEAT e-Altea and SEAT LEON TwinDrive – the company will be present at the gathering of electric vehicles (E-nergètica 2013) at Barcelona’s Parc de la Ciutadella, as well as at the EV-Large Scale Demonstration – a real, small-scale demonstration of what a city with only electric vehicles in circulation would look like.
