Right, a little bit of background info…

I saw this car in the local Barons Specialist Cars (Sell Aston Martin’s, Shelby Cobra’s etc) for £5995.

I went for a test drive on my 21st birthday and fell in love with it instantly, after having previously owned a 4 speed 1.4 MK3 Golf and a 5 speed 1.6 MK3 Golf – I felt like a 6 speed 1.8 SEAT Leon was in order as I didn’t want to stray from the ever friendly VAG scene.

2003 1.8 20vt 177BHP cupra, full leather interior, air con, arm rest (bonus!), 6 disc changer with 35k on the clock and 1 previous owner!

Now I managed to get the dealers down to £5750, even after they agreed to replace the cambelt, 2 front tyres, discs and pads, new exhaust bracket, new flywheel, new battery, full service, air con service, full valet, new headlight washer and an MOT. BARGAIN!

So anyway, I went to transfer money from one account to the other for a deposit, and when I got back someone else had taken it for a test drive! :scared: :scared:

Turns out I knew the kid too, was one of my mates little brothers! :angry: :angry: So yeah, he came back and was filling in all the papers 🙁 I was almost in tears in the sodding dealership lol!

Got called into a side office and one of the dealers explained to me that I should give them my details just incase the finance falls through… “Okay” I thought, why not?! So then as I’m filling out the details I see the boy walk off.

In comes the other dealer who explains that he didn’t have any money for a deposit, and his dad wouldn’t lend it to him so the car was still available!!! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

So immediately I put the deposit down at £500 and 3 weeks later the car was mine! And I still smile every time I start up that lovely engine :laugh:

Got some mats on the way, black carpet with yellow banding 😉
