It sounds to me that when you had the bump the part on the bottom (just above the bumper) has been pushed up, not shure if the latch on the bottom can be adjusted so it sits thurther up so it locks in place easyer, as for the trim metal clips hold it in place and they are realy strong just be carful that you dont snap the trim.
