MemberHas anybody changed their side repeater lenses for VW Golf or Polo ones. They get rid of the oragne ring in the lense and look much better. Just wondering if anybody had as I’m looking to do it and wondered what part numbers are required.

MemberNot done it myself, haven’t really thought about it tbh! But now you mention it – it is quite annoying!
I’m sure it should be just a straight swap as the Leon is based on the MK4 golf, but don’t hold me to that…

MemberI may have to go and do a search on Friday afternoon when i’m off work. Maybe go to VW for part numbers and prices.

MemberWill do mate. I’ll definately be doing it, just got to buy them and get the amber bulbs to go with them. Hopefully get some silvertec ambers for them so no amber shown.

MemberI’ve just been doing some research and aparently they Golf Mk4 don’t fit the face lift Leons. Although Mk6 Fiesta ones do. Looking at a website that does smoked ones for around £16.50, plus £3 for silver bulbs. I’ll check if Ford do them, if not the website it is.

MemberJust ordered a set of smoked side repeaters from http://www.body-kit.co.uk/section.php/880/1/lighting. They are part number FO-FST6-3100. I ordered them with the amber bulbs which all in all cost £23. Not too bad. Now just have to wait for the arrival and hopefully they will fit straight on, should do.

MemberGot home from work today and there was a nice little packet on the floor addreessed to me from Body-kit.co.uk. Got all excited and opened it to find a pair of chrome/amber 501 bulbs and no repeaters, along with the invoice stating that the repeaters come direct from the manufacturers AutoArt Ltd. So not too bad, half the order has arrived, now just want the main part to come, which will hopefully be tomorrow or at least this week so I can fit them this weekend!

MemberI’ve used that site in the past, very good and quick with delivery! Also autoart is a very respectible company so they should look the nuts!
Can’t wait to see what this looks like…

MemberHad a card from Royal Mail yesterday saying I had a packet that needed signing for. Sent the old dear to collect it today on her way to work. Hopefully will fit them Friday afternoon or Saturday. Looks like I better get out the cleaning products and sort out a photobucket account.

MemberFitted the side repeaters this afternoon. All I can say is it looks much better. Had to make a few alterations to the repeaters but well worth it. Also, hope a bulb never blows as seeming I now can’t remove the new repeaters as the casing is plastic and would probably break, just would have to remove the wheel arch cover and change the bulb that way! Although it is well worth it. Hopefully going to clean the car tomorrow and get some pics of it, already sorted a photobucket account. Lets hope the weather stays dry!

If it’s anything like the MK3 Golf – you need to put a penny under it and lever it out – but be CAFEFUL! This can scratch/chip paint work!
