    Hello all,

My Wife was recently driving our Leon and apparently the air conditioning was working fine. She parked the car for around two hours and when she drove it again, the air conditioning wasn’t working. In fact, it seems to be blowing warm air (although not hot). I’ve checked the air compressor clutch and it’s spinning freely (albeit it seems to be catching ever so slightly on the three bolts on the pulley for some reason).

The radiator fan isn’t coming on when I press the ‘AC max’ button so I was beginning to suspect this to be the issue but I can’t seem to test it – when I run a wire from a 12V battery to the wiring harness terminals it doesn’t do anything. I tested the wire on my Mk 5 VW Golf radiator fan and that doesn’t switch on either so I don’t know if it’s a temperature sensor switch that’s preventing this?

Any suggestions on what the cause of the AC failure might be or how to test the fan please? Or any other common issues / tests I can do to confirm or eliminate various causes?

    Thanks in advance.
