Firstly, not sure if I can put brakes in engine and chassis mods, but there isn’t a brake mod section so thought here would be good enough.

I am looking at uprating the brakes on my TDI Cupra. I have already bought the discs, front and rear EBC Ultimax from EBC Shop online, cost £242.32 for the discs, still got pads to get, hopefully thid week also. Want Ferodo DS Performance pads for front and rear also. Will do the brake fluid also, looking at Castrol Super Dot 4 fluid.
I ordered the discs at around 1pm on Tuesday, were at the front door at 10am Wednesday, that is quick service. Hopefully get the pads at Camberley Auto Factors on my mates account so a bit of discount. Will be going for prices of pads tomorrow.
The discs size on the front is 288mm, but a petrol Cupra has 312mm. I would change the size but am not adding another £200 just for calliper carriers. The rears are 233mm, not sure if they are the same on the petrol Cupra.
Just thought i’d let you know.

Got the pads the next day, got Ferodo DS Performance pads, look good, get new bolts for the rears too. Got the brake fluid from Opie Oils, ended up getting Motul RBF600 brake fluid, still DOT4 but has high boiling point like racing fluid. Fluid wasn’t too bad at £35 for 1.5L or 3 500ml bottles. Hopefully going to fit the brakes on Monday next week.

Yeah I have heard a lot of stories about the Greenstuff pads. Got a mate who fitted some on an Ibiza Cupra, drove from Reading to Tilehurst, about 12min drive for him!, got out the car and they were alight! Mate I work with is now using Redstuff pads in his Astra Coupe Turbo, he is complaining a lot at the moment. I’m going to be fitting my brakes on Monday so i’ll see what they are like after that.
