Hi there I’m a user on the IbizaOC website , my cousin has a 2010 Seat Leon 1.4 Tsi 2010 , It has done 33,000 miles and after hitting a speed bump , has brought on the management light, I’ve had a scanner on it and turned it off twice now and it says there is no pending fault codes but after a short drive it comes back on. The fault code is P0172 – System too rich bank 1, It seems to have no effect on performance and how the car drives but obviously has to be turned off, has anyone encountered this fault code before and know if this is a common problem or if there is a fix for it, Thanks.

Had a quick look online. Could be caused by a faulty MAF sensor or an air leak after the MAF. Also check the vacuum hoses for splits or leaks.

Check the lambda sensors especially the one after the cat and check the exhaust isn’t damaged. If the lambda sensor senses extra oxygen it will enrichen the mixture

Hi sorry for the very late reply ! Forgot all about my post after turning it off and had no further problems with this fault code, however P0016 popped up the other day and seems to be a correlation to cam / crank sensor! Had a quick look online and theres post pointing to sensors, timing problems, oil grade and quality, the list is endless. But for him not having the funds to have it diagnosed correctly its a bit of a stab in the dark, quick oil flush and oil change on saturday and take it from there, will let use know how I get on.
