When I first test drove the MK3 Leon at Media day I came across a few things that I didn’t like compared to the MK2 Leon, one of them was the washer jet style. The MK2 Leon has a cool modern style fan style that sprays a light dusting of fluid over the screen, The MK3 Leon however has gone back to the old school style jet this time with 3 jets.

A few sources on the internet have documented an upgrade available now to solve this “issue” and it really is as simple as swapping one part for another.

If you have heated washer jets you need to buy 2x 5M0955986C9B9 from Volkswagen or Ebay,If you don’t have heated washer jets then you need to buy 2x 5M0955985C9B9

Once they arrive simply swap the old ones for the new ones and away you go.

Below is a comparison of the old (top) and new non-heated (bottom)

    Comparison of spray

On the right we have the OEM 3 jet spray, On the left we have the modified fan spray (if you look closely you can see it)

So what is the pro’s? Well it looks more modern and it offers better coverage aswell as uses less fluid

Cons? well it costs money, the non-heated ones can be upto £10 each and the heated ones upto £25 each but I think its worth it

Good info and thanks for sharing and part numbers 🙂
I might change mine at some point and I did something similar with my old Peugeot 306 and swapped the washer jets for some Citroen Xsara jets as they mist instead of spray and did a good job. Also they were fixed so no messing around with a needle to set the aim 🙂

Obviously I haven’t done this myself as I have the fan style ones on my MK2. but I think it will make a big difference and are quite cheap.

I’ve just looked at this listing, and it doesn’t show as compatible for the Leon 2013-15 – I’m guessing the listing may not be correct though.

Would these definitely fit the Mk3 2015 1.2? If so, I may order some before I take delivery of the car and make this my first mod lol

Bit of a long time ago I know but Iv just order these fan jets for my mk3 that has the rubbish 3 jet style. I used the part number provided for the non heated style but they don’t seem to fit?? maybe Iv just ordered a different set but according to eBay it’s the same part no provided does anyone have a link or any advice to get a hold of ones that will definitely fit?

Sounds like a good upgrade. Silly question, how do you know if you have heated jets or not?
