MemberHi all. I noticed a link to this site on AndrewJB’s car and thought I’d join and say hello.
I’ve had my mk3 184 SC FR for about three months and really enjoying it (more so since putting a DTUK CRD-T on it) but still have a few build quality issues to resolve unfortunately.
Here are some pics:

Thanks.
The issues are:
1) Passenger door card only fixed on with 6/12 screws, the other 6 in the bottom causing a rattle. All mounting clips snapped so waiting on a new door card – waiting on parts
2) A pillar trim not fitted correctly. Loud rattle – waiting on parts
3) Really loud rattle/buzz from the dash – acknowledged but unknown
4) Drivers door seal not fitted properly so get loud wind noise in your right ear above 50 – awaiting part
5) Drivers door card not fitted correctly causing a rattle with stereo bass – fixed
6) Wait for this one – It left the factory and dealership PDI with the lights not working – faulty light switch – fixed 3 days after delivery
7) All four bottom rear corners of the front seats are torn where you fold and slide them. Not visible unless you look but im not happy.
8) Final issue is the supplying dealer must have washed it with a gritty sponge and it has fine swirls in the paint – Mopped and polished next week at VW

InactiveThanks for info., those faults are a worry tbh but you may have just been unlucky. I would have thought that VW quality control would have tightened up on these marques associated with their name but obviously not. I will def check mine with a fine tooth comb when I get it and going from a Golf which is rattle and noise free I am hoping for the same on the Leon.

MemberIt’s all pretty common I’m afraid. Most of the faults have tpi codes.

InactiveCant say i share your problems. I have only had mine a month, and the only issue i have with it, is a rattly vibration sort of noise where the dash and the “A” pillar plastic trim meet on the passenger side, and it only rattles when the car is stone dead cold, like after it has stood overnight, to be fair no sooner do i hear it, then i have forgotten about it again. When i get a minute, i will spray a bit of silicon spray into the join. Its not bad enough to take back to the dealer. Otherwise its a pleasure to drive.

MemberMine was a September build so I think the Spanish guys and girls had a bit too much sangria during their August off and forgot how to build them.
