    Hi guys,

    I’m currently on the hunt for a Leon and thought i’d found the perfect car (14 plate 1.8 fr sc DSG). I’m quite late on in the negotiating stage and I’ve realised that on motors.co.uk the navigation, full led lights etc. (tech pack) was under general spec and not specific to the car I was looking at. This has left me in two minds now as most Leon’s tend to have the tech pack, so would seem silly to purchase one without.

    Anyhow, how much of a difference is there between the lights on the Tech version and without. I’m not as bothered by the Sat Nav. I’ve had a look online and I can never tell which car i’m looking at (whether it has the full LED’s or not). If anyone could perhaps show a side by side picture of the front and rears separating the two that would be great.

    Also, would you agree that if you’ve found the perfect spec Leon minus the tech pack, is it probably advisable to look elsewhere? Or is it really not worth the hassle of finding something else?

    Any help would be appreciated :).

    I don’t think there’s any difference to the rear lights – all FRs have LEDs.

    I’m not sure if you will be able to tell the difference on the fronts – it may depend how good the picture is. I’ve linked a picture of my FR which has the LED lights. You should be able to tell that the headlights don’t have a single bulb, but a series of LEDs instead. In addition (I think), LED fitted FRs come with the triangular daytime running lights.

    Hi sozibwuup,

    How did you get on with the negotiating?
    I have just received delivery of a new 15 plate LEON FR and as it was ordered via my company, the Tech Pack deal was not applicable 🙁
    I am still very happy with the look of car and lights, you certainly don’t worry about the Look of the LED lights when your sat in the car. Yes the Rear LEDs are standard.

    I was wondering if an upgrade to the FRONT LED lights in the future was possible.
