    Hi guys,

    Thought I should say hi and introduce myself to the forum 🙂

    Bought myself a Seat Leon SC FR TDI 184 in Candy white and had it just over a week now and really impressed with it so far 🙂
    Car has a few extra’s including Tech pack, Convenience pack, 18″ alloys, and sunroof.
    Bought a space saver spare as well as I don’t like the idea with the foam/gunk and costs more in the long run if you get a flat.

    I am coming from a Peugeot 306 Gti-6 which I had owned and used daily since 2001 and was a great car and probably why I kept hold of it for so long and will miss her but the time had come to find something cheaper to run but also something that was able to put a smile on you’re face when you wanted a bit of fun 🙂
    I looked at almost everything the last couple of months deciding what to get, and I always came back to the Leon as it was ticking all the right boxes for me.
    Good mpg, low tax, enough power and a good chassis with a good spec for the price I was willing to pay 🙂

    Just got back from Wales yesterday to see some family and give the car a good run being careful not to be too heavy on the right foot and car is really nice to drive and is comfortable at cruising speeds and great fun down some A/B roads and feels very balanced all round, although did not explore the high end of the rev range just yet.

    What really impressed me was I filled the tank up before coming home which is 220 miles back to London, and when I got back I had 2/3 of a tank left which was mostly cruising between 70-80 most the way. The peugeot used to be just under 1/4 tank for the same trip and the tank was 10 litres bigger as well so it’s doing pretty much what i wanted, oh and the new Leon looks pretty good too IMHO 🙂

    600 miles later and home and the car was minging from all the rain and muddy welsh lanes so gave it it’s first wash today and used some Zaino polish and sealant ready for winter and took a few pictures while it was clean…

    Not seen any other Leon Fr’s on the road yet but have seen quite a few mk4 Ibiza FR’s on my travels

    Had a quick look through the threads and you guys have some nice looking cars here and hope you enjoy them as much as I have so far and hope to for a lot longer 🙂

    Good to have a few MK3 Leon owners on here now im a big fan of the MK3 Leon. as you might of seen i was one of the first in UK to test drive the whole range.. and will soon be test driving the Leon ST out in Spain.

    Do you have any plans for the car then? A few tuning companies such as REVO and APR should be tuning the MK3 Soon 😀

    I’ve posted a guide on here for upgrading the washerjets aswell that might be something your interested in 🙂

    Car looks very nice, how do you find the LED headlights? i love them wish i could get them for the MK2 Leon haha.

    Would look even better with a LeonOC sticker on it.

    It’s nice to be here and I hope to be around for some time now 🙂
    I did see you’re review and many others before buying and did not hear anything bad about this car apart from unrefined engine idle and mirror wind noise but so far I have not encountered either and all seems pretty good from what I have seen.
    They are right about the rear visibility being a bit limited, but it’s not that bad either 🙂

    I only test drive mine for 10 minutes and knew it had ticked all the boxes for me as I wanted a car that I could have a bit of fun with now and again but something comfortable for commuting with and the Leon seems to do both very well 🙂

    No plans on any tuning just yet, but a remap in the future is a good possibility when I start wanting something more.

    Saw you’re post on the washer jets and is good info and will probably upgrade at a later date.

    The LED lights work really well and produce a nice clean light and stretch out far enough on main beam.
    Tested them out down some welsh country B roads last Friday and they do a great ob down the unlit roads 🙂
    Infact, the DTRL alone would light the road up pretty well on their own :rofl:
    Just glad that the Tech pack was free as it’s not a cheap option if you are paying for it.

    I would imagine the mk2 headlights are not too bad, better than my 1997 306 that I am coming from anyway :lol
    From looking at the owners manual, you can’t replace any bulbs in the LED headlighs apart from maybe the indicator bulbs, so hope they do last the lifetime of the car!
    Saying that, I am sure there would be a way to take them apart and solder in new LED’s if needed 🙂

    Was always interested in buying a mk1/mk2 Cupra for a long time, but when it came to actually buying something I was buying with my head and my heart and the TDI was a natural choice in my mind. First diesel and first ever Seat for me as well.

    So who do I have to sweet talk to get a club sticker then? 🙂

    They are in the store on https://www.leonoc.com all profits go back into the club and allow us to fund stuff like shows etc 🙂

    If i was you, because you are one of the first to have a 184, Speak to REVO ask them if they want to develop tuning for it… usually they will say yes and will use your car to do it and in return you get free tuning 😉

    I honestly think the MK3 is a very very good car and am happy to recommend it to everybody haha

    Glad you are loving the MK3 … Thought I’d just say hi as I used to own a 306 GTI-6 .. Loved the car to bits and I am now driving a Leon sc 184 Tdi .. Which I love even more!!

    First thing I did when I got home was peel off the dealer stickers on the rear window :lol

    Will look into the mapping as well thanks although need to see how it bumps up insurance and how it affects mpg and so on 🙂

    I do miss my 6 but definately :love: the Leon 🙂

    I had a phase 1,you probably had a phase 2/3 facelift model, all the same underneath though 🙂
