    Hi

    I have just been given from my wife a cone filter to add to my car. I have a 1.6 emocion. Looking the the air box, there is a pipe that comes off the main air pipe that comes round to the front of the engine and connects to something. (Sorry I know it is a bit vague but not very mechanically minded).

    Is this pipe important, or can I just get rid of it?

    You got any photos of the engine? im not familiar with this engine

    I would hazard a guess much like the 1.8T it was an oil breather pipe or something. You needed to put a small oil breather filter on it.
    Not 100% thats the same with you but it sounds very similar.
