    First off, welcome to LOC!

Secondly – the Haynes manual for the MK4 golf will work with the MK1 Leon.

Third thing – if I were you I’d ask the person you bought it from what exactly he did to the engine with regards to modifications. Possibly get some sort of engine cleaner in there…

    Welcome :good:

Bang some Millers Sport 4 in their that will give it abit of a clean out but unfortunately when you fit and exhaust it will smoke more

If you want it to stop it then fit a normal exhaust :good:

    Welcome to the forum.

A remapped PD150 will smoke more than a standard one. Also give the air filter a clean and re-oil, that may help a bit.

I agree with Andrew and find out from the previous owner what has been done to it, either that or see if it pulls the same as a standard PD150. If you don’t know the previous owner and still want to find out if it is remapped, get it to a rolling road day and see what the roller output is. A dealer should be able to check the ECU for a remap as well, but may put it back to standard “accidently”.

Also, looking at insurance, give Greenlight a try, I got my Cupra TDI with them for £440. Bargain in my eyes. Car is basically the same as yours.

Just get it Rolling Roaded that will tell you straight away if its been mapped or not

    150-165bhp Not Remmaped

    165-190bhp Remapped
