Lee
MemberAfternoon all, im lee, live in north yorkshire.
I dont currently own a leon but looking into buying one so thought this would be a good place to start for some advice etc.
Im looking at the leon 20v turbo, my budget will be around £3500.
I heard nothing but good things about the turbo and ive been told they are rather fuel efficent despite the performance.
Anyway i look forward to speaking to some of you and seeking advice on buying one!

MemberWelcome to the forum mate 🙂
As you can see it’s not quite where we want it yet, but it’s getting there 🙂
As for the 20vt, I’ve purchased one and am loving every minute of it! What BHP you after?

Nice 🙂 I got the cupra which is 177BHP, the sport is the 180BHP, either way they’re both Leon’s and therefore stunning cars 🙂
Good luck with the hunt! Where are you looking?

The usual stuff really mate, body work, engine, interior wear and tear! Check for turbo lag too, should come at about 2500 RPM

Memberso whats the choices then, forgive me as im a leon virgin and know very little about them!
Ive been looking at them and i think i will be going for a 51-52 plate, i look at this ebay example,http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-SEAT-LEON-20V-TURBO-CUPRA-YELLOW_W0QQitemZ160342647689QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item25552aa389&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A7|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
so thats a 180bhp earlier model right? Im just a bit confused with the whole Cupra thing? Some are advertised as cupra and others not? whats the difference?
Sorry to sound like a dumbass but im completley new to the leon 8)

MemberWell the cupra 180 is actually 177BHP, whereas the sport is actually 180BHP lol
The other cupra’s are 210 and 225BHP.
That car there is a sport I believe, don’t quote me on that though! I have the cupra and it doesn’t have the black rub strips, and has a “cupra” badge on the back, unless that one has been debadged…

Memberah ive noticed some leons have the cupra badge on while some dont but thats the only difference i noticed. so it doesnt really matter whether i go for the cupra or the sport then if there is only 3bhp in it.
So what would you say i should be paying for a 51-52 plate then, with less than 100k on the clock 8)July 5, 2009 at 1:56 pm #3578ToRo
MemberFor my 52 with 30k on the clock I paid £5750, parkers quotes about £6k+
