    Hi everyone

I own a Seat Leon ST (reg. date July 2014) so it is after the warranty. So far, it had been services every February/March (twice), this is when I bought it over 2 years ago, and then it had its first MOT done last June.

Servicing the car every year in Feb/March and then doing its MOT in June does not make sense to me – hassle, waste of money and how often you need to check your car?

So I did not service the car this year. SEAT servicing involved oil change and filter replacement plus some minor bits and bobs. Would you agree with me thinking that it’d be best to do its MOT in June and ask them to replace the oil then (NB annual oil replacement is something I would like to do – it is a diesel and I use it in town most of the time)?

Just to add that so far all servicing was carried out by SEAT Arnold Clark. If you think it is best to service the car on top of its MOT, would you continue using SEAT Servicing, go for a cheaper Arnold Clark one or use a local garage.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Maciej

Could you please let me know what you think? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a Seat Leon FR ST registered in 2014.
It is serviced by a local VW specialist and I have a lot more faith in him than I do of my local dealer! I also have the car serviced once per year but I have the MOT done by Kwik Fit as they are the cheapest. The service and MOT are about 6 month’s apart.
