I was playing around with my radio today (silly I know!)

And put the coded lock on by accident! I have the code, but it won’t let me type it in  any ideas?

Not urgent as I can’t drive it until 19 days lol

    What does the Manual say?

You only got 19 days left on ban to serve?

This is a stupid lock system on the radio. I locked mine when I typed in the wrong code when I disconnected the battery. The manual doesn’t help at all either. The way to fix it?………

Turn on the radio and leave it for an hour!

Luckily it works without the key in the ignition so you can turn it on, lock the car and return in an hour. After an hour, it will be ready to insert the code again. Doesn’t mention that part in the manual. Enter the code and all will be fine….. except if I remember right, the volume will be up a bit from normal, just a warning. Mine scared the S#!T out of me when it came on.

    lol thanks, Adam!

As said, the manual doesn’t help at all beyond typing the code in originally! Don’t fancy leaving radio on without key in ignition… battery = death?! 🙂

It’s all good. That’s what I did. Didn’t drain battery and (I think), the radio has a cut off after a while so it doesn’t kill the battery. Although I haven’t left my radio on for that long to find out.
I left mine on with the door locked and it was fine. Couldn’t be bothered to wait around in the car doing nothing for an hour, especially for the reason that I didn’t know if it was going to work after that time. When I returned it must have been something like 58 or 59 minutes as at first it still said “SAFE”, then all of a sudden it was ready to have the code put in again.
An hour is a very long time when you have nothing to do and are watching the clock!
