    I’ve a new Leon Mk3 SE 1.2 DSG, received in Dec 2013.

I bought a 64GB SDXC card with the hope that I’d be able to use it in the SD reader in the entertainment system. However, it is unreadable. I’ve even tried formatting it in FAT and FAT32, and also reducing the partition to sub 2GB, but it cannot be read.

What is the known maximum size of SD card supported in the SD card reader? What has anyone else tried? The manual does say SDXC is supported, but doesn’t indicate whether there is a maximum size.

I’ve a measly 256MB SD card which does work OK.

Have you spoken to the dealer?

I am pretty sure the max is 32Gb for the SD card and not sure if it supports SDXC.
I am using a class 10 16Gb card and it works just fine.

It’s only going to be playing audio files so a class 4 card would be up to the job as well.
Only need faster transfers on SD cards for HD pictures or Video really.

This is what I am using

    £19 for 32Gb here

    32Gb version

    Hope that helps 🙂

Also look at page 23 HERE

I assume the 2Gb limit is per folder as I have more than 2 gig on the 16Gb SD card 🙂
You probably have an issue with the file types of bitrate of the audio.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll probably buy that 32GB card. I suspected 32GB was the limit, having seen similar indications on other forums for VAG cars.

I can ask the dealer, though I rarely expect dealers to know details such as this.

    Hi,

    I have a 32GB sd-card and a 32GB Disk-On-Key and both are working just fine.

I’ve just taken delivery of my Mk3 Leon and I’ve got a 64gb card working without any problems. I think they might have to be class 10 UHS-I to work. The one that I’ve got is http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-Ultimate-Class-UHS-I-Memory/dp/B00AFTV3FC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1398948095&sr=1-1&keywords=transcend+sdxc+class+10. I don’t think I reformatted it – it came as exFat I think.

Interesting. I bought the Premium Transcend 64GB which didn’t work, so yes, must be something about the higher class card which allows it to work.
