    As a newbie and not that up on the mark, my recent purchase a 2007 Leon 2.0 TDI (140) has an annoying whine around 1500 RPM.

    It sounds like a police siren says the missus. There’s nothing amiss with the performance (yet) has anybody got any ideas.

    This is Common, Its called a Siren or Ghost Turbo

    Some can blow shortly, some can go for a 100k, Get it looked at by a Turbo specialist or VAG Specialist if you like but they will proabably say theres nothing much up with it

    Is this consistant with the VW, Skoda and Seat vehicles !!!.

    I have in insurance policy purchased with the car, is there any milage at this stage going for a new turbo.

    its very common!

    id get a specialist to check out the turbo first see if its knackered or not, ive seen perfectly good turbos give out this noise
